testicular implant • prosthesis
Testicular implants/prosthesis can replace testes missing or removed due to injury, atypical development or surgery. The reasons for pursuing a testes prosthesis vary and men shouldn’t feel embarrassed about asking to have this done. It is not uncommon that another urologist has told them the surgery is not necessary and ‘nobody else will notice’ that only one testicle is there.
The placement of the saline filled prosthetic involves a minor, one-hour surgery done under general anesthesia. As with any prosthetic, it’s important to weigh the benefits and risks of the procedure. Contact Dr. Kuan to find out if a testicular implant is right for you.
Phimosis • Circumcision • Circumcision Revision
Most men never have problems with their foreskin, circumcised or not. However, uncircumcised men may experience tightness during erection or inability to pull the foreskin back. This can lead to pain, pain or trauma during intercourse, penile rash and difficulty cleaning the penis. Circumcised men may have had poor healing and present with persistent skin bridges, persistent tightness or scarring.
Each situation is different and some men will require minor surgical correction of these problems. Whether you’re experiencing the discomfort of phimosis, or considering circumcision or circumcision revision, there are many options available to you.
Penoscrotal webbing
Penoscrotal webbing is the abnormal attachment of scrotal skin to the penile shaft, sometimes obscuring the penis or causing discomfort during penetration. The condition can make condom use impossible, and an erection appear smaller.
Penoscrotal webbing correction involves a simple surgical procedure, where the excess skin is removed resulting in less pulling during sexual stimulation and the appearance of more penile length.
Genital skin lesions
Genital skin lesions can be caused by a number of conditions, including infection, allergies, and autoimmune diseases. The can cause itching and pain, become infected and occasionally lead to scarring or disfigurement.
Dr. Kuan can improve your quality of life and address your genital skin lesions through assessment, biopsy, treatment and/or removal.
Frenulum breve
Frenulum breve is a shortening of the frenulum, the band of skin that connects the glans to the foreskin. Experienced by about 5% of uncircumcised men, it can cause pain and bleeding during intercourse.
Frenuloplasty is most often recommended to treat this condition. It is usually performed with local anesthesia in the office, with a recovery period of about 2-4 weeks (the time it takes for the stitches to dissolve).
